About

Hi! My name’s Helen. I am an educator, facilitator, teacher, conflict coach, team-builder, student, processworker and trainee therapist. I live in the West Midlands on the Birmingham / Black Country border.

I’ve been facilitating groups and training workshops since 2006 in peacebuilding and community dialogue, nonviolent social change and conflict transformation. I work freelance and am an Associate Trainer with Peacemakers delivering restorative and peer mediation training in schools. Previously I’ve worked with a range of public, private, charitable and faith organisations including West Midlands Police, HM Prison and Probation Service, Birmingham Children’s Services, Anawim – Working with Women, Near Neighbours and St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace. Much of my work has been with people who are marginalised by mainstream society.

I am deeply in love with nature and appreciate urban life. I practice yoga and delight in wild swimming, walks, seasonal foraging, pilgrimage, beautiful views, adventuring in my campervan and reading books of many kinds. I spend a lot of time with my partner and two children and love exploring the world through their experience.

I bring my whole self to my work. I bring a warm curiosity in who you are; your individual circumstances; and in the knarly, less pretty parts of life and ourselves and how they might be meaningful. I bring my enthusiasm for learning and a lifelong dedication to my personal and professional growth. I bring over 15 years experience of working with diverse groups and individuals using a range of facilitation approaches. I bring my commitment to affirming and celebrating diversity, transforming division, challenging oppression and modelling alternative ways of being that centre relationship with oneself, others and the natural world. And I recognise I’ll always be learning how to do these things better.

I am an advanced student of Processwork UK and a trainee psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UCKP). I observe the standards of ethics and practice laid out in the UKCP and Processwork UK Code of Ethics.
